The Colbert County-Northwest
Alabama Health Care Authority was originally incorporated
on December 20, 1949, under the name “Colbert County Hospital
Board.” On February 7, 1984, the Authority was reincorporated
as a health care authority and public corporation.

The Authority is governed by a nine-member
Board of Directors. As of January 2003, the Authority boasts over
